AGM & SGM 2009

Special General Meeting

Outback Queensland Tourism Association recently held a Special General Meeting in Winton on Saturday 7 November, to seek feedback from members on proposed changes to the OQTA Board Structure and Constitution.

As part of the updated OQTA Constitution, a new Board structure was ratified and will consist of the following representatives:

  • One elected representative from each of the four Sub-Regions, each for a two year term - North West Sub Region; South West Sub Region; Central West Sub Region and the newly formed Far West Sub Region encompassing the Local Government Authorities of Boulia, Diamantina and Barcoo.

Please note: The North West and Central West Sub Regional positions on the Management Committee remain current until the 2010 AGM. These Management Committee Members are Michelle McFadyen (Central West Sub Region) and Margie Ryder (North West Sub Region).

  • One representative nominated by each of the three Regional Economic Development Organisations in the Region, namely, Mount Isa to Townsville Economic Zone (MITEZ), Remote Area Planning and Development Board (RAPAD) and South West Regional Economic Development Association (SW RED). These positions are for a one year term.
  • Three representatives nominated by the Management Committee to provide the appropriate mix of geographic and/or skills-based expertise for proper governance of the Association. These positions are for a one year term.

Annual General Meeting

The Outback Queensland Tourism Association's Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday, 10 December in Longreach.

We are pleased to advise Jane Morgan - Manager, Cosmos Centre and Observatory - from Charleville and Brian Mooney - Tourism Development Officer, Diamantina Shire Council - from Bedourie as sole nominees for their respective South West and Far West Sub Regions have been elected unopposed.
